No

 @9GYLMYJ  from North Carolina agreed…4mos4MO

As citizens, only citizens of America, should be able to vote on what america chooses to do with american business.

 @9GYN4CQ from Arkansas disagreed…4mos4MO

If they go through the process and claim official American Citizenship then they should have the right to vote.

 @9GYP3GQdisagreed…4mos4MO

However, foreigners' ability to vote allows for diversity in ideas and allows for support in the development of new American residents, which can help the American economy since foreigners statistically do the more challenging jobs in the US.

 @9GYMYLHfrom Guam disagreed…4mos4MO

America is an ocean of freedom not a gas chamber . Any immigrant who stays here for 10 years should vote. That is what the American dream is

 @9GYNLZSPeace and Freedom from Colorado disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners should be able to vote because you can be considered a citizen after living a certain amount of years in America. So Foreigners don't necessarily mean random people from around the world who know nothing about U.S. Also, a variety of different people will help bring different perspectives and different examples to go by.

 @9GDVZSC from Kansas agreed…5mos5MO

Voting is a right that comes with citizenship in the United States. It has been a hard-fought right for many groups and cannot be taken for granted. Foreigners for the most part already have the right to vote in their country of origin. If foreigners would like to vote in the United States they can apply to become naturalized citizens.

 @9FVYW7D from Pennsylvania agreed…6mos6MO

Non-citizens should not be able to have an effect on American elections, despite their political affiliation.

 @9GJMHYR from Colorado disagreed…5mos5MO

Everyone has a right to their own opinion and if someone is a legal resident of the States then they have a right for a say in our government.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes

 @9GYLMYJ  from North Carolina disagreed…4mos4MO

If you are not a citizen then why do you get the same rights, that would be like if we went over to a club we are not involved in and started trying to tell them what to do.

 @9GYMV9S from Idaho agreed…4mos4MO

I agree with this to the fullest extent. if you don't have papers to be in this country then you don't belong here. plain and simple

 @9GYM2LF from California disagreed…4mos4MO

You follow the laws of the country you are currently in, therefore you have the same rights, citizen or not.

 @9GYNLZSPeace and Freedom from Colorado disagreed…4mos4MO

Foreigners should have the same rights as citizens because this situation is not as simple as going over to a club and changing things. They are living in the U.S. territory and know the situation, and have a understanding of what's happening. then they should be able to talk on it and vote on it. Because who ever gets voted and whatever rules get passed affect them no matter what.

 @9FCFS7WRepublican from Alabama disagreed…6mos6MO

They are not citizens they have no right to choose our government or make decisions about our country.

 @9F8YB4S from Rhode Island disagreed…7mos7MO

if they are not citizens of the united states, they should not be able to exercise the rights that are unique to citizens

 @9FBR9FF from California disagreed…6mos6MO

Why would a non-citizen be able to decide what goes on in a country that they aren't even supposed to be in, since they didn't come the legal way.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

No, only legal citizens should be allowed to vote

  @jsimicConstitution from Texas agreed…7mos7MO

American issues and American policies should be determined by American citizens.

American citizens should not vote in Mexico, UK, or Canada.

Canadians, British, and Mexican citizens should not vote in the USA.

 @MonkeyDanGreen from New Mexico disagreed…7mos7MO

Your point is valid, and it's true that in most countries, only citizens have the right to vote. However, some countries, such as New Zealand and Uruguay, do allow non-citizens who are permanent residents to vote. These countries believe that those who contribute to society, pay taxes, and are affected by the decisions of the government should have a say in who governs them. Do you think there could be a middle ground, perhaps granting voting rights to foreigners after they've lived and contributed to the society for a certain number of years?

 @9FBR9FF from California agreed…6mos6MO

They are "illegal" immigrants as in the broke the law, these individuals are not even able to be fully booked into our system.

 @9FBG2WW from South Carolina agreed…6mos6MO

If too many foreigners get turned into voters for their chosen party, then there will be no secure border, which means a massive rise in drugs, human trafficking, and taxes, and would lead to the downfall of America. Voting is for Americans and legal citizens of America only.

 @9GKBDVBLibertarian from Texas agreed…5mos5MO

Anyone who enters the country illegally should never be allowed to vote. They should be required to leave the country and apply to our immigration or asylum programs in the accepted legally until then they have shown that they cannot follow the US laws and should not be allowed to vote to influence them

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes, anyone who pays taxes should have the right to vote

 @9FVYW7D from Pennsylvania disagreed…6mos6MO

Non-citizens should not be able to have an effect on American elections, despite their political affiliation.

 @9FQLH8PRepublican  from California disagreed…6mos6MO

Paying tax shouldn't be the only requirement for vote. Foreigners pay tax so they can receive government services such as child education, etc. But if they are not U.S. citizens, they should not be allowed to vote.

 @9FQNRW2Peace and Freedom from Utah agreed…6mos6MO

I agree. If they are't granted citizenship of this country, they should not be allowed to vote in the future of this country

 @9FS5W8C from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

The right to vote is reserved for US citizens and if a foreigner is not taking the steps to become a citizen, then why should they be allowed to pick our leaders/ representatives.

 @9FRMMLCIndependent from North Carolina disagreed…6mos6MO

If they are LEGAL US citizens, then yes, they should have the right to vote. If they are not a citizen, then absolutely not.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes, but only after living in the country for 5 years

 @9FR43FGIndependent from Colorado disagreed…6mos6MO

Living here for five years does not make them a legal citizen, which means under our constitution they are not qualified to vote. If they are a legalized citizen, then yes.

 @9FL6LP3Women’s Equality from Texas disagreed…6mos6MO

No, because that can be forged. Even living in the country for 5 years does little to show their commitment to the American culture and country.

 @9FPKC9J from Wisconsin disagreed…6mos6MO

No they foreigners residing in the United States for 5 years should only be given the right to vote if they have become a U.S citizen.

 @9GNPP7S from Michigan disagreed…5mos5MO

i think that 5 years is not enough time and that we should make them stay longer becuse they need to know a lot about the current and past governement to have an educated vote on todays politics

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes, but only after living in the country for 10 years

Foreigners should not have the right to vote in US elections. They must have US citizenship. They are welcome to live here, but if they want a say in how things are run, they must commit to our country by having citizenship. Not having US citizenship will create a conflict of interest when voting.

 @9FLX9TQ from Georgia disagreed…6mos6MO

No one should be allowled to vote unless they are a US citizen, it should not be changed or allowled to those whoa are living in this country that are not citizens.

 @9G9YPQQ from Ohio disagreed…5mos5MO

If you are not a US citizen, you should not have the right to vote. All foreigners should apply to get citizenship and take the class to become fully educated about our government.

 @9GLSPWF from Illinois disagreed…5mos5MO

I believe that a person should only be able to vote if they have a U.S. citizenship, regardless of how long they live in the U.S. If you wish to make decisions for the citizens, then you must be a legalized citizen.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes, but they should only be allowed to vote in local elections

 @9GZ5P8Z from Alabama disagreed…4mos4MO

If they came here illegally they shouldn't be allowed to vote at all because they shouldn't be here in the first place. If they wanted to vote then they should have come here legally. If they couldn't get here legally then they shouldn't be here.

 @9FM38FMdisagreed…6mos6MO

In some local elections that help the community based on that induvial then yes. If it doesnt have to do with actually changing laws (government).

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes, but they should not be allowed to vote in local elections

The right to vote is only granted to American citizens. The right to vote has only been granted to citizens by the Constitution.

 @9GHMT9Ydisagreed…5mos5MO

If they are not citizens of the United States they should not have a say on who is going into office

 @9GK28G3CA Common Sensefrom Maine disagreed…5mos5MO

Foreigners are not americans. There should be no place in America where they have a say in how americans live

 @Name-IrrelevantConstitution  from West Virginia agreed…5mos5MO

Agreed. What other country on the planet would allow a U.S. citizen to enter their country and choose their leaders for them? Self-determination is exactly that: SELF-determination. Not other-determination.

 @9GJBF8T from Connecticut disagreed…5mos5MO

They should not be allowed to vote if they are not a legal U.S. Citizen as only someone who is truly a part of the country should be allowed to vote on who goes into office.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...7yrs7Y

Yes, but only if they are European Union citizens
