Do you think it's important for a country to prioritize its own citizens' wellbeing over global cooperation, and why?

 @5G5Y377Socialist  from Virginia answered…6mos6MO

It is ideally the purpose of a government and country to serve its population to the best of its ability, however it has been demonstrated that cooperation and solidarity produces greater results than nationalism or isolationism.

 @9H8NZYDRepublican from Wisconsin answered…5mos5MO

Yes, because America's first priority should always be its citizens, not the citizens of another country.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…4mos4MO

Can you describe a moment when you felt particularly proud of a cultural aspect or tradition unique to your country?

 @9JS5WCGanswered…3mos3MO

When the U.S gets attacked by some foreign power or organization (I.E Japan and Al-Qaeda), everyone in the U.S decides to put away their differences and fight whoever attacked them.

 @9JSB6FG from New York disagreed…3mos3MO

Look at 9/11. While at first majority of America wanted to attack back, it lead to a huge divide within our country because of conspiracy theories not to mention the false war it started.

What makes you optimistic or pessimistic about your nation's direction, and how does that impact you personally?

 @9KHVGG4 from California answered…2mos2MO

The currently political climate has shown a severe gap in education and extreme gullibility of a large portion of our country. Those afflicted by these descriptors are also the ones to be vocal and vote against the rest of the country's attempts to improve their lives. Basic logic and reasoning should be mandatorily taught at very young ages to prevent indoctrination and such negative consequences. Politics should also stop being a business of corporations and the ultra-wealthy to keep the lowest "IQed" Americans voting against their own interests to keep the oligarchy in place.

 @9KHW8VD from California answered…2mos2MO

With the way everything in the US right now is Left versus right, I am quite pessimistic. I'm not exactly the most positive of American, so nationalism could end up being dangerous.

 @9KHWZZR from South Dakota agreed…2mos2MO

With the 2024 presidential election coming up and the options being Biden and Trump, all hell will break lose. Why is the only options someone who no one will listen to and a man with 91 felonies??? Nothing will be getting done with Biden being president because all the republicans immediately disagree with him. And with Trump he's gonna make project 2025 a thing and this country is gonna become a dictatorship because everyone kisses Trumps behind.

 @9KHVN9H from Texas answered…2mos2MO

Our Nation has veered towards split between democrats and republicans. It is no longer the love for the country, but more a love for ones political party, and moral stances.

 @9KHZWW2 from Missouri agreed…2mos2MO

People are too obsessed with the right vs left mentality and other parties and ideas should become more popular, everything feels too divided.

 @9K8N8RV from Nebraska commented…2mos2MO

The last president we had wasn't very good and caused a raid of the capital, which caused my family and I not to be able to get a tour of the capital when we went on vacation in South Dakota.

 @ISIDEWITHasked…2mos2MO

When has your country come together in a way that made you proud, and what was the result of that unity?

Football events, especially Super Bowls, insight unnecessary violence and would be a poor example of the prompt.

 @9KJNY5G from Kansas disagreed…2mos2MO

It doesn't unite the country but rather divides the country by not focusing on the important political issues

 @9KHT8PM from Pennsylvania answered…2mos2MO

I think so, if you are still able to be unique while still completely supporting your country. Im not very nationalist when it comes to politics.

 @9KHTLNC from Florida answered…2mos2MO

Yes you can maintain your culture. A Mexican cooking Mexican food or dressing differently is perfectly fine.

 @9KHT9L2 from Texas answered…2mos2MO

Yes because most national culture is not in close ties with traditional culture of a persons

 @9KHTYKWAmerican Solidarity from Nebraska answered…2mos2MO

We are Americans first and foremost, foreign individuals and immigrants should conform to our values and traditions that does not mean abandon their own but instead to build upon them. people who say we are a nation of immigrants have their head in the past we have had 300 years to develop a blood, nation, identity, traditions and values, these should be respected not ignored.
