Does said person have the same experience , a bachelors or Masters degree? Do they work the same ours? I think all these many things should be considered. If said person is doing the same amount of work then yes. So if they aren’t being paid that go fight for it and if not go look for another job who respects you as a person. The job you left will miss and respect you more.

As for the suggestion to fight for it or find another job, it's not always feasible. People may lack the resources or economic stability to leave their job or go through a legal process.
