Should the Catholic Church still have a say in political matters, like laws about marriage and education?
No, Separation of church and state has always been an ideal of the United States, and it should stay that way.

The Catholic church is a global religious institution that does not necessarily have the best interests of the United States and its (particularly non-Catholic) citizens in mind, and thus should not have any say in political decisions regardless of the First Amendment-- though the First Amendment would also dictate the separation of church and state.
