Is unity within diversity a realistic goal for our society, and how can it be achieved in the face of anti-immigration sentiment?

I don't know if it is realistic for complete unity. I think as a country we can work to improve our unity.

if we can ever fully accept everyone for who they are no matter where they stay then maybe we could have no anti immigration laws

It is not a realistic goal because I think no matter what, diversity will cause disagreement and racial discrimination.
