i dont believe the Catholic Church should have a say in political matters since it only represents the conservative side of the political spectrum and can overrule the votes of the more liberal party.

There is a separation of church and state for a reason. It excludes and marginalizes the majority of people that aren’t Catholic..

The Catholic Church is a religious institution, not a political one. Separate church and state, why should they have a say in marriage policy?

As a conservative, I am often disappointed that conservative parties still affiliate with the church and subsequent rhetoric. The Catholic church has consistently demonstrated throughout its history that it does not use logic in decision making, is plagued by inconsistencies and corruptions, and does not have the best interests of America at heart.
