I like to stay to the traditional views that have stayed with America and worked for a long time. I don like it when a widely held belief is debunked.

I think that the government has a history of lying and burying things for its own benefit, and has been known to manufacture its own narratives in order to sway public opinion on this. An example of this would be Unit 731 and the atrocities the government buried. I think the governments past of this has helped spread the ideologies of conspiracies.
