It is 100%, without a doubt, discriminatory for a transgender person to be denied the same rights as a heterosexual male (assigned at birth). I'm sure most of us can agree that all citizens deserve equal treatment. However, I do have some level of concern from the medical aspect. If being transgender is, in fact a psychological issue, medical research is being denied and cancelled, this prevents doctors and medical professionals from understanding the cause. All we do understand is that transgender in simple terms, is the belief that one's self is in the "wrong" body. This can be classified as a body dysmorphic disorder, it's medical term is "gender dysphoria". Viewing this as less of a choice but an actual state of mind, opens the door to possible research and further answers as to "why?". Look at it this way, there are people trying understand what it is that makes a person believe that they are the opposite gender, these people have good intentions, and want to help. I myself am interested in what lies beneath "gender Identity". Less of finding a "cure" or "solution", but figuring out what the source is and how we can better help the people who struggle to figure out their "gender identity". Let me know what you think. I am open to new perspectives on the matter.
