Democratic Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs has vetoed a bill aimed at strengthening the rights of homeowners looking to evict squatters from their property, despite the bill being passed in bipartisan fashion and as a wave of squatting cases continue to terrify homeowners across the country.
The bill, SB 1129, would have permitted a homeowner to request law enforcement to immediately remove a squatter from their property, had the squatter invaded a home and unlawfully claimed a right to live there.
Police, acting on an owner’s affidavit, would have had the permission to immediately go in and have someone evicted.
But Hobbs nixed the bill on Tuesday in a short letter to the president of the State Senate.
"Today I vetoed Senate Bill 1129," Hobbs wrote. "This bill fails to leverage existing legal mechanisms, respect the due process rights of lawful tenants, and minimize unintended consequences such as for victims of domestic violence."
"After receiving the affidavit, police would have to verify its author is the property owner and proceed with removing the unwanted occupant.
Democrats argued the bill's powers could be used by domestic abusers to exert economic control over victims"
Of course she does! For the bought-and-paid-for liberals, it's all about protecting the illegal immigrants (non-Americans) as much as they possibly can, at the expense of Americans. Media is probably covering this up in AZ to protect her with the misinformed voters there.

I really do wish the AZ GOP would try to write bills that make Arizona residents healthier and stronger and stop concentrating on ways to go after poor and disenfranchised people in general. Would probably get more bills signed and we all would be better off for it.
Deliver a bus load of illegals to her front door, at about 2 a.m. Give them invitations to show her that state they are welcome to reside with the governor while she looks for permanent housing, transportation, and employment for them.
Well, if she let it pass, the cops would be coming for her because she is squatting the Governor House.
