He has more experience as the lieutenant Governor since Nungesser has been the Lieutenant Governor since 2016 so he would know more about the position than Fleming

He assumed office on January 8, 2024. His current term ends on January 10, 2028. Fleming (Republican Party) ran for election for Louisiana State Treasurer.
