Students didn't decide the price and tuition of schools, nor how the process for paying was enforced. Scholarships are offered but not always accepted, which creates an unfair balance putting student in an unfair position. Overall price demand for education is too high, but sadly there's no way around it if you want a "promising future"

it should be paid for by the student while giving them as much of a break as possible. It should be easier to get a good paying job in order to pay off your loan.

There is a stereotype that college students are poor, so much so that their health suffers because of it. This is compared to most wealthy people, who avoid taxes anyways. So it's best that these incredibly wealthy people share the wealth with people who never had a chance to make it big like they did.

Why should I have to pay for someone else to make a stupid mistake and go to USC for 80,000 a semester and study gender studies and then wonder why they can't pay for their tuition?

Student loans are great but not everyone can afford to go to school, let alone pay their student loans off, especially with the current pay rate.

When the government pays off student loans, taxes are raised on everything and everyone in the country is affected. We should put more emphasis on careers that do not require a four year degree.

Students who get loans need to pay off their own loans that they created and if they pick a major that doesnt provide enough money to pay off their loans than that is their problem not the governments and especially not the problem of tax payers.

Unfortunately with with the percentage of Enrollment to non-college goers and the States of the US I doubt anyone would agree with that.

the average student loan debt is $37000 which is horrifying, and disgusting. you can't defend something like that. if you want to learn for a good job, something like that should be cut in half, to take less time to pay off. nobody should have to pay that much for education in one lifetime.

Student loan interest has been near double normal rates while most other day-to-day living expenses and wages have been growing disproportionately.

I think that student loans for college should be the students responsibility considering they chose to to go there and for their benefit they need to learn how to work hard and achieve their goal rather than relying on my money that I earned

The rich are rich for a reason. I feel that when we tax the rich for things that aren't really necessary it's taking advantage of them and their own personal resources. If they so desire they could donate to programs and organizations that help college students with less money. But forcing someone to help doesn't always make the situation any better.

Liberals pushed for students to go to college but didn't teach them about how loans worked, causing this issue.

They are just too much for most people, that's what makes it so hard for anybody to get an education these days, it's just too much.

 @9FLKT5C from Delaware disagreed…7mos7MO

Sometimes student loans can make it much more difficult for someones future so it should not have a lot of interest rates but should still not be paid for by the government.
