Marijuana is a non-violent drug, or in other words, those who are 'high' tend to be non-violent and normally keep to themselves, so it is not logical to put them in prison.
@9GD86YX7mos7MO
Marijuana actually helps a lot of people, and there are so many other things that we need to be worried about, not filling up our prisons with minor drug offenses.
@9G396WM7mos7MO
In support of bodily autonomy and due to the fact that marijuana is a less harmful substance than alcohol, and actually proven to decrease symptoms of physical (Parkinson's) and mental (anxiety) conditions, it should be federally legalized.
@9G2BLY57mos7MO
marijuana is a safe substance. it, increases appetite, helps with chronic illnesses, and releases seratonin

If penalties are increased on non violent offenders particularly penalties that lead to longer prison sentences then non violent criminals could become violent and be more likely to commit crime
Also increasing penalties could make it harder for non violent offenders to get a job which means More unemployed citizens because of increasing penalties on a drug that should be regulated not illegal
@9GWK6BN6mos6MO
US prisons are flooded with non-violent offenders. The war on drugs is a war on people; prison and felony records turn people into criminals with no other recourse.
@Dry550Independent 6mos6MO
Drugs aren’t a bad thing, “the war on drugs” has long since died out, it was started based on misinformation, marijuana is and should be considered an alternative to medicine. People gave new age healing a chance, give marijuana a chance. It’s for the betterment of mankind.
@9G83HX77mos7MO
Marijuana clouds your judgement and causes harm to the brain. If there are increased penalties people are more likely to not use it.
@9FLXWW58mos8MO
its not affecting anyone if you smoke or not. penalties for maryjane should not be increased either cause its recreational its not a hard drug people shouldnt be jailed for it unless they plan to distribute in which they could be fines but not jailed
@9FLZ6T7Republican8mos8MO
why, marijuana is shown to already be a way to cure many problems when used medically whats the pain in letting people use it without needing a doctors not
@9FLYBGP8mos8MO
There are more harmful drugs than marijuana. Marijuana should be legal. Alcohol has a worse effect on people than marijuana. Violence happens more with alcohol than marijuana. Alcohol should be illegal and marijuana should be legal.
@9FLNHZH8mos8MO
The strongest argument for Congress to end federal marijuana prohibition finds its roots in the far reaching harms and disparities
@9FLN8J58mos8MO
Three popular arguments in favor of legalizing adult cannabis use are: that its adverse health effects are modest compared with those of other licit and illicit drugs; that criminal penalties for cannabis use harm users and the community; and that legalization enables cannabis to be better regulated and taxed.
@9FZCD887mos7MO
As a person living with a medical problem, medical marijuana has allowed me to manage my pain without the use of narcotics. Providing treatment for drug addiction has been shown to prevent addiction related deaths and crime.
@9F9K54NRepublican8mos8MO
I don’t think non violent offenders should be punished harder than violent offenders. It should be a case by case basis depending on the situation in that persons life.
@9F8NJRZ8mos8MO
It is a plant , unless you are too high while driving or creating a issue in our word , I dont see a problem with marijuana
@9FJ5DHXPeace and Freedom8mos8MO
my brain is breaking reading that, but i guess i think legizallie it? im not sure i dont under all of that
@9FG9J8RLibertarian8mos8MO
Many over-the-counter medications can be classified as "non-violent drugs" so why ban only Marijuana
@9FBWB7R8mos8MO
marijuna never killed anyone , unlike other hard drugs like fetynol or meth which are real hard and bad drugs unlike marijuana .
@9F6ZX888mos8MO
Marijuana use does not cause violence if anything lowers violence and these laws are more targeted towards low income areas
@8ZDD6QRLibertarian7mos7MO
Marijuana users are not a high risk to society. Enforcement has been used as a tool to oppress specific people groups in the past.
@9F7V9N48mos8MO
Marijuana keeps some peoples lives together, it has plenty health benefits and is more on the side of a "harmless" drug.
@Dry550Independent7mos7MO
Not only is increasing penalties for NON-VIOLENT drug offenses ludicrous, but it shows the offenders and the American people that we are anti-drugs. If we take that stance, we might as well get rid of all the other drugs doctors use to save lives. We need to show the country that we understand people sometimes need treatment and help, they don’t deserve judgment for something that might be out of their control.
