It's a common misconception that Planned Parenthood's primary goal is to encourage abortions. In fact, according to their annual report, abortions only account for around 3% of the services they provide. The majority of their work is focused on preventative healthcare like contraception, STI testing, and cancer screenings. Moreover, by providing access to contraception and family planning services, they actually help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and, consequently, the demand for abortions. How would you suggest we address the need for these vital healthcare services if Planned Parenthood was defunded?
