Here are your answers compared to this voter’s answers.
Social › Abortion
4>4 Personal answerThere are times that a pregnancy needs to be terminated, but that should be up to the woman, her physician and maybe the father of the child. Govt has no right to intervene, pro or con, and should not be paying for it, no matter the case. If a woman believes in God, she will have to deal w/that at sometime, especially if the abortion is just used as a means of birth control. |
Social › Gay Marriage
4>4 Personal answerYes |
the Economy › Equal Pay
4>4 Personal answerNo, there are too many other variables such as education, experience, and tenure that determine a fair salary |
Domestic Policy › Gun Control
4>4 Personal answerIf a person wants to purchase a gun, how does the seller determine how mentally/psychologically balanced they are, or if they are criminals (not all thugs have police records). Who pays for testing? How do you stop a person who is ill, from stealing a gun from parents, who own them. How do you stop criminals from obtaining guns thru robberies, on the street, or someone giving them a gun? Guns possession is legal under the constitution perhaps limiting the kinds of guns available for sale, is one way to restrict. Registration and licensing is a means for the govt to "track" who is buying and keeping guns, only for the law abiding citizen. the thugs don't to either. |
Social › Religious Freedom Act
4>4 Personal answerA person that opens a business expects to have customers - and if they wish to limit their base, they should be able to do so, but they must have some way to communicate this to everyone, so those whom they don't wish to serve will not come to them seeking services. Jewish diamond sellers have locked doors and only allow certain people to come see them, for their protection mostly. If a business can survive on the select few customers, so be it. Why FORCE PEOPLE TO DO WHAT IS NOT CONDUCIVE TO THEIR LIFESTYLE OR BELIEF? |
Immigration › Muslim Immigrant Ban
4>4 Personal answerYes, and ban all immigration until the government improves its screening process |
Social › Planned Parenthood Funding
4>4 Personal answerPlanned Parenthood, was founded for one specific reason, if that has changed, then they may be doing "good work" in education about sexual activity, how to prevent pregnancy, STDs, and other female issues. However, the government should not be "funding" them or any other organization. If these groups want to exist, let them find "private money" to sustain them. Govt should have no part in any of it. |
the Economy › Minimum Wage
4>4 Personal answerNo, most minimum wage jobs are meant to develop experience, not support a family |
the Environment › Climate Change
4>4 Personal answerNo, provide more incentives for alternative energy production instead |
the Economy › Paid Sick Leave
4>4 Personal answerNo, private businesses should decide the amount of competitive incentives they offer to employees instead of a government mandate |
Domestic Policy › Drug Policy
4>4 Personal answerMedicinal use of some drugs should be allowed. Should marijuana be legal for recreational use, no. Should the fines or jail sentences for possession, for personal use, if you are caught be as harsh, NO. Should dealers be given strict jail time Yes!... for those w/crack, heroin, meth etc. should not be legal, at least a year in jail for possession for the 1st offense, more for mulitple arrests. Strict fines and punishment for growers, for manufacturing, for selling. |
Domestic Policy › Term Limits
4>4 Personal answerYes, term limits will increase performance and prevent corruption |
Foreign Policy › Mandatory Military Service
4>4 Personal answerYes, but only for those who do not pursue further education or employment |
Domestic Policy › Muslim Surveillance
4>4 Personal answerYes, until the frequency of terrorist attacks by Muslim extremists decrease |
Immigration › Immigration
4>4 Personal answerthat of course depends... children under the age of 18? deport the illegal parents and children w/them. If the child was an anchor baby.. mom 8.5 mos pg, who came to drop an "american citiaen" in hopes of leniency... ship them back, when the child is 18, let them come in be vetted and get a job, or go to school. If they were brought here as young children and are now over 18... have lived no place else, have a job or go to school, or served 4 yrs in the military, give them fast track to citizenship... thru the channels... but in less time.. One has to believe they learned to speak English and can pass the test for citizenship.... if not.... hard call. |
Education › Student Loans
4>4 Personal answerThere could and should be low interest rates for those wishing to obtain a college/university education. If they have HARP for a home loan, why not dod something for the youth of America WHO WANT TO GO TO COLLEGE AND INTEND TO FINISH. No student loans, Pell loans, or FREE EDUCATION, for those who will go one year, because it is free and someone said they can...only to find out that they don't have the basic skills to pass. I know HS dropouts who enrolled in Comm. Colleges, went on for four years and are now studying for a Master's degree they have a goal, but they can't afford the tuition, and the loans are killing them. In the meantime Rather educate those that have a set goal, or some real idea of what they want to do when they graduate. Some kids should not even be getting a "free education" unless it is to teach them a life skill.... trade or commercial school, where they can try different subjects till they find one that will give them skills to get a job and support themselves. we need mechanics, hairdressers, plumbers electricians, painters... not just lawyers and politicains. |
Social › Death Penalty
4>4 Personal answerYes, but only for horrific crimes with undeniable evidence |
Healthcare › Marijuana
4>4 Personal answerYes, but only for medical use |
Social › Confederate Flag
4>4 Personal answerYes, each state should have the right to display any flag they choose |
Social › Government Mandates
4>4 Personal answerNo, the government should not decide what services a private business can provide |
Domestic Policy › No-Fly List Gun Control
4>4 Personal answerA no fly list has to be some sort of "discrimination" or racial profiling... who determines who goes on the list? How is the determination made? If you are banned from flying because you pose a threat to the other passengers, perhaps it is a good idea to keep you from buying a gun also... but then we need to go back to the question of how is this determined. |
Domestic Policy › NSA Domestic Surveillance
4>4 Personal answerslippery slope - NSA has many ways to obtain info in cooperation w/other agencies and other countries. If there is a suspected terror plot, those they suspect could be tracked, and data obtained could lead to a warrant for probable cause. The NSA, FBI and police enforcement don't need to get and store info on the average citizen. So does the govt have to do racial profiling, probably and it is justified from what we are seeing in other parts of the world. What happens when you have a terroist that is "homegrown", white male (or female), like Timothy McVeigh? that is a hard one, because we know it can happen. |
Domestic Policy › Gerrymandering
4>4 Personal answerYes, switch to a multi-member, proportionally selected redistricting system |
Social › Women in Combat
4>4 Personal answerYes, as long as they can pass the same physical tests as men |
Immigration › Illegal Immigrant Detainment
4>4 Personal answerYes, all illegal immigrants should be turned over to federal authorities and deported |
Healthcare › Medicaid
4>4 Personal answerNo, and eligibility should only include the elderly and disabled |
Immigration › Border Security
4>4 Personal answerYes, and allow border states to manage their own security policy |
Social › Gender Workplace Diversity
4>4 Personal answerNo, board members should be the most qualified regardless of gender |
the Environment › Alternative Energy
4>4 Personal answerNo |
Immigration › Immigration Healthcare
4>4 Personal answerIllegal aliens or if you must "immigrants", have broken our laws of entry, and should be eligible for nothing. that said, if there is an emergency situation /or they have an infectious disease, when they arrive yes by all means let them get treated at govt expense. If they have been here over three months, they should seek private insurance like the rest of us. They have had time. If they seek govt assistance for any reason, they should be detained and turned over to ICE and deported as soon as possible. If there is an "anchor baby", new born, it goes back to the country the mother came from. If they have lived her undetected for even years - detaij and deport... they are criminals... they broke out entry laws... they don't belong here, till they come thru "channels" like our ancestors.I am all for encouraging folks who want to live here, under our Constitution and laws, assimilating by learning about our history, the language most of us speak, and getting a job to support themselves as my grandmother, aunts and parents had to do and becoming US citizens... not assuming they can be living here in the "land of the free" forever and not earning their own upkeep. |
Immigration › Immigrant Laborers
4>4 Personal answerNo, fine companies that employ illegal immigrants |
Elections › Voter Fraud
4>4 Personal answerThere is no reason why anyone cannot get a photo id.... a voter registration card can be obtained thru the city in which you live If they are so destitute to not have a dollar or two to get the photo required, then by God, let the federal govt who is handing out billions to foreign countries stop that and buy the photos for those who truly cannot afford one. |
Domestic Policy › Patriot Act
4>4 Personal answerThere are times when the govt must employ surveillance tactics, like right after 9/11, to verify there is no greater threat to the american public... but this BIG BROTHER WATCHING EVERYBODY, EVERYWHERE, like infants in airports, or elderly nuns in their habits, but not middle eastern women wearing jihabs because it might offend, or violate their religious rights It is everyone, or no one.... it is racial profiling and that is too bad... sure an elderly, white hair granny could have been offered a large sum of money to carry "contraband".. but it is unlikely. |
the Economy › Government Spending
4>4 Personal answerYes, and eliminate federal agencies that are unconstitutional |
Foreign Policy › Israel
4>4 Personal answerYes, but respect Israel’s sovereignty and do not dictate how it should interact with its neighbors |
Immigration › Immigrant Assimilation
4>4 Personal answerYes, and remove multilingual translations from government documents and services |
Domestic Policy › Net Neutrality
4>4 Personal answerNo, treat all traffic equally and continue the openness of the internet |
Social › First Amendment
4>4 Personal answerNo, religion is an important aspect of our country’s history |
Domestic Policy › Gun Liability
4>4 Personal answerNo |
Crime › Solitary Confinement for Juveniles
4>4 Personal answerYes, it is severely psychologically damaging to young undeveloped minds |
Social › Euthanasia
4>4 Personal answerThat should be between the patient, his religious belief, his family and physcian. Govt should have NO say so. |
Immigration › Skilled Immigrants
4>4 Personal answerDecrease, and the government should provide more incentives to prepare our citizens for these jobs |
Domestic Policy › Affirmative Action
4>4 Personal answerif the constitution states that all men (women) are created w/the equal opportunity to seek freedom, happiness, jobs, education those "things" need to be available. Is a teenager who dropped out of school, and never held a job equal to one that got a diploma, and is working somewhere? NO. We should not be subsidizing anyone who does not accept the responsibility for getting a free education available to all. We should not be subsidizing those who will not go out and get a job. We should definitely not be subsidizing anyone because of the color of their skin... they are not "victims", even if they want to portray themselves as such. So sick of those who want something for nothing, while the rest of us are busting our asses trying to survive. |
the Economy › Labor Unions
4>4 Personal answerLabor unions may be a "necessary evil" in some business, so owners don't take advantage of the employees No public/service jobs... teachers, doctors, nurses, govt employees of any kind should be under any sort of union. If there are unions in some companies, employees that want to opt out should be allowed to do so, but then they don't reap any 'benefits" from the union negotiations. NO ONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO JOIN A UNION, or be made to strike. |
the Economy › Capital Gains Tax
4>4 Personal answerNo, increasing the capital gains tax will limit investment in our economy |
Immigration › In-State Tuition
4>4 Personal answerNo, and all illegal immigrants should be deported |
Education › Common Core
4>4 Personal answerEducation should be the domain of the states, as set up by the Founding Fathers. However, all 50 states and territories should have on standard set of learning tools/books. When military families or others have to move from one locale, (whether it is another town, city,or state) to another because of their "job", the kids should be able to transfer from one school to another w/o being penalized. They should not be so far behind that they are put back a grade, or so far ahead, that they are w/older students.... So using the same text books, and a common learning style is a good thing. |
the Environment › Oil Drilling
4>4 Personal answerNo |
Foreign Policy › United Nations
4>4 Personal answerNo, and remove the U.N. headquarters from the U.S. |
Healthcare › Obamacare
4>4 Personal answerNo, government should not be involved in healthcare |
the Environment › Fracking
4>4 Personal answerNo |
Domestic Policy › Eminent Domain
4>4 Personal answerNo, and the government should never be allowed to seize private property |
Foreign Policy › Torture
4>4 Personal answerNo, and we should strictly follow the laws of the Geneva Convention |
Foreign Policy › ISIS Ground Troops
4>4 Personal answerNo, not until they attack us on U.S. soil |
Foreign Policy › North Korea Military Strikes
4>4 Personal answerNo, we must use every diplomatic option first |
Foreign Policy › Foreign Aid
4>4 Personal answerDecrease, and we should not give foreign aid to any countries |
Foreign Policy › Drones
4>4 Personal answerNo, only to gather intelligence, not to kill suspected terrorists |
Domestic Policy › Social Security
4>4 Personal answerNo, and stop spending current funds on other programs |
Foreign Policy › Terrorism
4>4 Personal answerNo, they are not U.S. citizens and do not have constitutional rights |
Foreign Policy › War on ISIS
4>4 Personal answerNo, not until they attack us on U.S. soil |
Science › Space Exploration
4>4 Personal answerNo, not until we drastically decrease our federal deficit |
the Economy › Federal Reserve
4>4 Personal answerThe Federal Reserve is a private bank, and therefore should have to follow rules set up for every other private banking institution. We have NO IDEA what they do. Abolish it altogether, or make it adhere to rules and regulations and public info. |
Foreign Policy › NSA Surveillance
4>4 Personal answeryes, our "allies" have allowed terrorists into their countries willingly if we are to learn about attacks planned against us, we need to know what is going on... should we be "tapping the phones of other nations leaders? that may be a bit much. |
Foreign Policy › Cuba
4>4 Personal answerI don't know his agenda, or how it will improve things for the US. Will it help the Cuban general population, than maybe it is a good thing. If it only helps the elite, like the Castros... no. If it makes it easy for ex pats of Cuba to travel to see family members they have not seen in decades, yes. I would like to see Cuba, but I am not interested in supporting the Castro brothers and their raegn of terror |
the Economy › Farm Subsidies
4>4 Personal answerYes, but only small local farms instead of large corporations |
Foreign Policy › Russian Airstrikes in Syria
4>4 Personal answerNo, we should not get involved |
the Economy › Property Taxes
4>4 Personal answerReal Estate Tax is in fact a steady form of revenue for the govt. However, in some states people are being forced out of their lifetime homes, because those taxes seem to increase every year, for the whim of whoever collects them In my city they have increased RET for a "fantasy" project of the Mayor. A million dollar a mile rail system, that will benefit private interest groups. Spending must be cut for non essential services. We now pay RET, and a garbage collection tax, water tax, sewage tax etc. I understand that these things cost money, but all these taxes have been added since I moved here 51 years ago. We also have a "rain water run-off" tax. Rainwater runs down my driveway, to a gutter, for about 6 feet and into a storm drain (that the city does not maintain), into the lake behind my house. Why? |
the Economy › Pension Reform
4>4 Personal answerPension plans by some localities are mismanaged, and losing money. An acct can be opened in a bank or if the employee chooses, the stock market/mutual fund and the employee should be able to manage it.... add deposits automatically from their paycheck, with no withdrawal allowed unless it is a life or death matter, till retirement |
the Economy › Bitcoin
4>4 Personal answerHave no idea what bitcoin is.. and too lazy to look it up right now. What is wrong w/what we already have? |
the Economy › Trans-Pacific Partnership
4>4 Personal answerNo |
